Information we collect.

Account information

• Name — used to identify you to friends.
• Email address — used to create and secure your account.
• Profile photo — optional; shown to your friends and on events you create or attend.
• Sign-in identifiers — if you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive a unique identifier and basic profile details from those providers.

Activity within the app

• Events you create or attend, including titles, descriptions, dates, locations, and photos.
• RSVPs and invitations you send and receive.
• Friend connections — the list of people you're connected to.
• Messages and comments you send through chat and event comments.
• Notification preferences you set within the app.

Location information

With your permission, we collect your device's location to suggest events happening near you. You can grant or revoke this at any time in iOS Settings. If you don't share your location, you can still use Prompt — you just won't see location-based suggestions.

Technical information

We automatically receive some technical information when you use Prompt, including device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and basic usage diagnostics. We use this to keep the app running reliably.

How we use your information.

• Provide and operate the app — letting you create events, invite friends, RSVP, comment, and chat.
• Show you what friends are doing and suggest relevant events nearby.
• Send push notifications about invitations, RSVPs, messages, and event updates.
• Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
• Respond to your support requests.
• Diagnose bugs, monitor performance, and improve the app.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

No personal information is sold, and we don't use your data for advertising.

How information is shared.

With other Prompt users

Information you choose to share — such as events you create, RSVPs, comments, messages, and your profile — is visible to the people you share it with. Please be thoughtful about what you post.

With service providers

For legal reasons

We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of our users or Spencer Street Limited.

In a business transfer

If Spencer Street Limited is involved in a merger or acquisition, your information may be transferred. We'll notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

Push notifications.

Prompt sends push notifications about invitations, RSVPs, comments, and messages — delivered through FCM and APNs. You can adjust preferences inside the app or turn them off in iOS Settings → Notifications → Prompt.

Storage & international transfers.

Spencer Street Limited is based in New Zealand. Your data is stored on Google Firebase servers, which may be located in the United States or other countries where Google operates. When we transfer personal data out of the UK or EEA, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit and at rest and restricted access controls.

Your rights and choices.

• Access and update your profile and preferences directly in the app.
• Control your location, camera, photo, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
• Delete your account at any time from within the app.

UK and European Economic Area

Under UK GDPR and EU GDPR, you have rights including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and the right to object. You may also lodge a complaint with the ICO (ico.org.uk) in the UK or your national supervisory authority in the EU.

New Zealand

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to access and request correction of personal information we hold. You can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (privacy.org.nz).

Account deletion.

You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Delete Account. Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, events, RSVPs, friend connections, messages, and photos from our active systems. Some information may remain in encrypted backups briefly before being overwritten. Messages you sent may remain visible in other users' chats.

Children.

Prompt is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before the changes take effect.
